Great North West Half Marathon

About the Run
The event is now in its 25th year, and grows in
popularity every year. The event attracts over
1000 competitors of all ages and experience
and is a great spectator course for the family.

Run for Charity
Raising money for charity is a big part of the
Fylde Coast Running experience for many
runners. You can run for any charity that may
be close to your heart. Contact them directly
and ask for sponsor forms. They will give you
all the help and assistance you need for
raising sponsorship money.

Entry
Entry into the event is open to everyone of all
abilities as long as you are aged over 17 on
the day of the race. Online entry is the quickest
method and we do not charge a transaction or
handling fee for debit/credit cards. Alternatively
you can always enter the old fashioned way
and download an entry form (link below) and
send a cheque by snail mail.

The entry fee is £20 for UKA/ARC Club Members
and £22 if you do not run for a club. There may be
entries available on the day (dont risk it though),
and these will be charged £2 extra.

Remember, there is NO FEE for using your
credit/debit card when entering online on this site.
 

Race HQ
The event headquarters is at the Hilton Hotel on
Blackpool's North Promenade. There is a car park
onsite, but does fill up quickly. There is an
additional car park just North of the hotel at Gynn
Square and plenty of car parks in the town, only
1 Mile away.

At race HQ you will find the registration desks
where you can collect your race numbers and
timing chips. There are also plenty of toilets,
baggage storage, cafe, changing within the
leisure centre and presentation after the event.
 

UK Athletics
This event holds a UKA Licence for road races
abides by the current rules of competition. An
Event Adjudicator is appointed to oversee the
operation on the day and to ensure the highest
of standards are met.

Course Accuracy
The event holds a valid Course Accuracy Certificate
denoting the exact half marathon distance and
correct placement of the mile markers on the route.

Awards & Prizes
All runners receive a commemorative medal at
the finish line, along with drinks and snacks
to help you recover from your run. Individual
race winners are awarded prizes in the following
categories:
First 3 Male winners in the race
First 3 Lady winners in the race
First Male Veteran over 40/45/50/55/60/65+
First Lady Veteran over 35/40/45/50/55/60+
 

Aid Stations and First Aid
The race water stations are located at approx.
3, 6 and 9.5 miles on the course. Bottled water
is handed out to all runners.

We also have Paramedics
and EMT's on the course ready to help if you
need them. Just alert a marshal should you
need assistance, they all have direct
communication with the medics who will be
there in a jiffy!

Results
Provisional results will be available on the day,
shortly after the race. Final results will be
published online on the evening of the race
here at www.fyldecoastrunning.org.
